James Isherwood B Ost

"I graduated from British School of Osteopathy in 2004 after successfully completing an enjoyable but demanding four year degree. The flagship school helped me develop a deep understanding of the structure of the human body (anatomy), the way it works (bio-mechanics and physiology) and what happens when things go wrong (dysfunction and pathology).

I believe that the skills I learned during my study formed a strong foundation for future development in this exciting field.

I enjoy a very active life in which I relish new challenges. I have played football and cricket to good standards and still play a dozen games of rugby every season. I also enjoy golf, trekking, rock climbing, jogging and playing squash.

Having spent over ten years in health and fitness clubs across South West London as a personal trainer, I have developed a strong understanding of sports specific exercises, rehabilitation exercises, corrective exercises and postural re-education. It still amazes me how many people (over 90%) do not know how to sit, bend, push, pull and lift correctly!

As an Osteopath, I am commited to providing not only good 'hands on' help, but also sound clinical advice and really helping patients understand the nature of their problems so that they can start to get back to normal as quickly as tissue-healing can allow and reduce the chances of re-injuring as much as possible."
